Over time, the facial muscles used to make expressions can remain contracted even when not in use, which causes etched lines in the face. Some patients see these dynamic wrinkles as early as their twenties, but it can be corrected with nonsurgical BOTOX Cosmetic injections. Using a purified strain of botulinum toxin Type A, BOTOX relaxes the treated muscles, which allows the overlying skin to look smoother. BOTOX is typically used on dynamic wrinkles like those between the brows, "crow's feet" in the outer corners of the eyes, smile lines, frown lines, and horizontal furrow lines on the forehead. By relaxing the muscles and wrinkles, Dr. Veytsman helps her patient look younger and more refreshed.

Dr. Veytsman will talk to each patient about their needs and goals before creating their unique BOTOX treatment plan. Once the patient is ready, the injection sites will be cleansed and marked before BOTOX is injected into the muscles with a thin needle. Most patients feel minimally discomfort during the initial needle prick, but can tolerate the treatment without anesthesia. Patients should talk to Dr. Veytsman about any past wrinkle injections and current medications to avoid any reactions.

Treatment Aftercare
Once the BOTOX treatment is complete, patients can leave as soon as they feel comfortable to resume their normal activities. Patients should avoid touching the injected area, lying down, and strenuous exercise for at least one day after their treatment. Some patients may see some mild redness, swelling, or bruising in the injected areas that should subside quickly. Most patients begin to see results several days after their treatment that last around 3 – 6 months.
